SHIRLEY G. WEBB
Author and Storyteller
PRESENTATION CALENDAR
She also visits Middle Schools and High Schools to discuss the content and writing of her novels for teenagers and adults. In 2003, teachers in Clark County, Nevada earned professional development (PDE) credit for attendance at her presentation, "Muse + Mouse = Magic."

She is popular as a presenter at writers' groups, where she discusses the technical side of writing.

Many appearances for schools and writer organizations are still pending (performance dates not confirmed).  Contact Shirley as soon as possible if you have a date in mind for a presentation for your school, library, or writer's group and to see if she will be presenting at a venue near you. Her email address is: authorswebb@aol.com.
NOTE: For the Christmas season, in one-half hour sessions, Shirley talks to young children about how Native Americans traveled from one tribe to the other telling stories, especially the story about the Native American Santa Claus. She reads her story, "Santana," from her award winning International Author's Choice and Reader's Choice book, Tales from the Keeper of the Myths, Cherokee Legends for Children.
Shirley has now read to over 5,000 children in various schools, libraries, and scout groups. When presenting stories from Tales from the Keeper of the Myths, she dresses in traditional Cherokee regalia. She takes the children back in time to her great-great-grandmother's Indian village, using their imagination and five senses. As she reads one of her stories, the original Native American flute music of R. Carlos Nakai, an award-winning Native American (Navajo-Ute), plays in the background. Shirley was granted special permission to use Nakai's music for these performances.
